The following fall foods have been shown to fight cancer, and should be implemented into the diet when available. They will boost the overall immunity as well as fight cancer. Immunity issues tend to be of special concern to fibromyalgia patients, so stock up!
- Apples: Lower the risk of colon, lung, mouth, throat, and possibly breast cancer. They hydrate the body very well, too. Eat them raw, with the skin. That’s where all the nutrients are.
- Carotenoid Foods: Lower the risk of breast, colon, lung, and prostate cancer. Carrots, pumpkins, squash, and sweet potatoes all contain carotenoids.
- Cranberries: Lower the risk of colon, lung, and some forms of leukemia. They help fight bladder infections and cavities.
- Colorful Foods: The brighter and richer the pigment, the higher its cancer-fighting properties. Beets, leafy greens like kale, and parsnips are all colorful foods with rich, earthy flavors that work well on fall menus or even eaten alone.
