Immune Boosting Food

Fibro Daily August 29, 2012

Eating to support the immune system makes sense in the case of Fibromyalgia as well as for general overall health. Aiding the immune system is important to prevent and manage sickness. In conditions like Fibromyalgia, the body appears to be attacking itself for unknown reasons. Therefore, food might help lessen the impact.

Dr. Oz designated the following foods as immune system boosters:

-Cell Commando Foods: Lean protein like beans, mackerel, salmon, tuna, and tofu.

-Fire Fighters: Herbs and spices like basil, cinnamon, chives, curry, garlic, ginger, and tumeric.

-The Fighting Five: Eat five servings of fruits and veggies a day. Acai, blueberries, oranges and strawberries; lightly cooked broccoli, carrots, and tomatoes.

-Tumor Torpedoes: Three servings of these a day from flaxseeds, quinoa, whole grain breads and pasta.
