Legislating Consumption

Fibro Daily June 14, 2013

In regards to our former post about Proposed Efforts To Restrict Marketing Of Large Sodas Can Have A Substantial Impact On Population Health, do you think your life as a Fibromyalgia patient would be better with such a law in place?

Some people blame obesity for Fibromyalgia or worse, accuse people who suffer from weight problems for creating Fibromyalgia as an excuse for their weight problems.

That’s absurd, and certainly something we here at Fibro Daily believe at all.

But it is true that Fibromyalgia patients may experience weight gain due to inactivity from pain and hormone issues. When you feel depressed or sick, you may turn to food for comfort.

Hence our question: if products like giant sodas and extra large portion sizes were legislated, do you think that would be a good thing because it would equate to less temptation when dealing with a disease that might cause weight gain?

Or do you think legislating food portions insults not only for Fibromyalgia patients, but all people?

Something to consider!
