Occasional use of artificial sweeteners is fine, but keeping them to a minimum works best for fibromyalgia patients.
That’s because food that is heavily processed and full of chemicals reacts very poorly in the fibromyalgia body.
To lessen sugar cravings, try honey. It tastes divine and a little goes a long way. It works in drinks, on bread, in desserts, and on meats/chicken. The uses are endless.
Also, learn to love complex carbs. Foods like carrots, squash, and yams provide a bounty of vitamins with an excellent taste and texture. Squash and yams can especially be used in a variety of ways, from eating them plain (with a tad of topping, perhaps honey based) to soups to breads. Also try a decaffeinated spicy tea.
Remember, there will be times you go off your diet and that’s perfectly fine. In fact, it may help you stick to a regular routine. And within the routine, avoid the chemicals.
