Study participants ate white button mushrooms in place of red meat to lose weight. This practice also helped them achieve better longterm results by sustaining the weight loss.
Participants ate one cup of mushrooms a day in place of the red meat.
Besides being full of nutrients, mushrooms provide a feeling of satiation and taste delicious when prepared in a variety of ways. They can be used in place of meat in many dishes and also grilled or prepared in a pan with garlic and other popular spices.
