Capsaicin

Fibro Daily November 1, 2012

When applied on a painful area, Capsaicin stimulates the release of a body chemical called substance P.

Capsaicin is an ingredient extracted from hot peppers, and comes in the form of a muscle cream, dermal skin patch, or spray. It creates a soothing feeling on the body as substance P depletes after application.

Many people feel iffy about alternative treatments, and that is with good reason. Alternative treatments often lack rigorous testing, and can interfere with medicines, causing sickness because of their lack of regulation.

Though any substance can cause allergic reactions based on individual biology, so far Capsaicin presents no serious mass side effects. So check with your doctor to see if it can be included in your treatment.
