We know that Fibromyalgia patients are often told to hit the pool and hearing the same old advice gets really old.
But if you haven’t given swimming a try, you really should consider it as a viable workout option.
Many communities offer inexpensive access to a pool as well as swim classes. That means you can save money swimming in the safety of a public place surrounded by others rather than in an isolated lake or pond. (NOTE: LAKES AND PONDS ARE NOT RECOMMENDED FOR A NUMBER OF SAFETY REASONS, INCLUDING ISOLATION AND SNAKES. NEED I SAY MORE???)
Furthermore, fibromyalgia swimming workouts in a pool allow your body to move without jarring against hard surfaces. The water soothes your body as it stretches and increases your heart rate.
If you don’t want to only swim laps, try a water aerobics class or water volleyball.
