Bunion pain feels excruciating, but it doesn’t have to be something that remains untreated or that adds to the pain of fibromyalgia.
First of all, what exactly is this bunion thing causing such monstrous pain and making your fibromyalgia even worse? Well, it’s simply a bump that forms on the big toe joint. However, “monstrous” may not be a strong enough word to describe the pain it causes.
The American Podiatric Medical Association suggests treating bunion pain by:
- Wearing a non-medicated, over-the-counter bunion pad.
- Only wearing shoes with deep, wide toe boxes.
- Applying an ice pack throughout the day to ease swelling and pain.
- Avoiding heels higher than 2 inches.
