Steroid Shots Perform Poorly in Back Pain Study

Spinal stenosis means that the open spaces in the spinal column narrow, or close. This puts pressure on the nerves and results in pain the buttocks and legs.

Before surgery for this condition, people often try steroid injections. But a new study shows those injections don’t help as much as undergoing surgery right away.
