Testosterone therapy may provide relief

According to a study that administered 14 weeks of testosterone replacement therapy to men, this treatment may provide some pain relief for men with chronic pain. Though the men’s own perception of their pain was unchanged, the study found a significant change in their objective response to pain stimuli.

This is consistent with prior studies, according to Shehzad Basaria, MD, who said in an interview, “When you look at pain studies with other analgesics, generally laboratory pain perception improves before a person feels that he is doing better,”
