This time, the news concerns a study about Fibromyalgia and exercise as it relates to Fibro patients, especially men. From FibroAction:
“University of Gloucestershire looking for participants for exercise and Fibro trial.
Researchers at the University of Gloucestershire are looking for participants for a study looking at how exercise can help people with Fibro.
They need as big a group of both male and female participants as possible, though the researchers are especially interested in attracting male participants as there is a particular lack of evidence for interventions for men with Fibro.
The research has been instigated by Dr. Andrew J Misiura, a Senior Lecturer in Biochemistry and researcher, who has Fibro himself.
Free access to Gym facilities and comprehensive clinical chemistry blood and saliva analysis will be available for volunteers willing to take part in the study.
For more information, or to register for the study, click here.”
As we’ve mentioned on this site numerous times, men really get overlooked in Fibromyalgia, so this could be a wonderful chance to help contribute more to the understanding of Fibromyalgia men. One hundred people have already registered, so you will want to hurry and sign up if interested, as they’ve extended registration due to the overwhelming response.
Here is a link where you can actually register for the Gloucestershire study on how exercise helps Fibromyalgia.
