At the recent meeting of the American College of Rheumatology Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C., researchers explained that fibromyalgia pain may develop from the way the brain processes stimuli. A lack of responsiveness to opioids may also play a role in the pain.

This current study sought to confirm how two other important factors from previous studies play into the above, and what areas of the brain all of this occurs.
