Electronic Nose Detects Sleep Apnea

Fibro Daily October 26, 2012

According to a study published ahead of print (25 October 2012) online in the European Respiratory Journal, an electronic nose may be able to detect sleep apnea more efficiently and cost-effectively than current methods.

The electronic nose does this by detecting the presence of molecules in the breath.

Right now, the standard test for sleep apnea is an overnight sleep test which proves expensive, technically difficult, and time-consuming.
