Sleep deprivation proves rampant among fibromyalgia sufferers.
The reasons for this abound. Certain medications can keep sufferers awake at night, creating drowsiness during the day that causes excessive daytime dozing. Pain can keep people up, too, as it often proves difficult to find a way to relax that doesn’t put pressure on fibromyalgia’s infamous tender spots.
But one reason may be quite a surprise.
Sleep deprivation could be caused by the bright light of your iPad, which suppresses melatonin, the hormone that helps regulate circadian rhythms.
