Ketamine Clinic for Depression Opens in Arizona

Fibro Daily July 15, 2013

Depression Recover Centers has opened Arizona’s first ketamine clinic. One of nine clinics total in the country, it offers treatment for patients with depression. Used as an anesthetic and recreational drug, ketamine works differently than traditional anti-depressants. Instead of increasing the level of serotonin in the brain, ketamine  helps the brain to re-grow damaged nerves. With a 70 percent chance of providing within a few hours to a few days, ketamine can be an effective treatment for depression, especially those who have been unresponsive to other treatments.
