Less Steroids May Be OK for Asthma Patients

Mild to moderate asthma suffers may do fine if they only inhale steroid medications during an attack as opposed to the standard practice of doing it twice a day, according to a new nine-month study sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute.

Researchers suggest this approach might lessen dependency on drugs, reduce medical costs by billions of dollars each year, and lessen possible side effects.
