Lupus Patients Often Skip Paps

Women with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) are at a higher risk for cervical dysplasia and persistent human papillomavirus (HPV) infection, yet they do not get timely cervical cancer screenings.

Part of this comes from patients thinking that they are already seeing a doctor for Lupus, so that is sufficient. However, it’s not.
