Obese people are more likely to suffer from sleep apnea. While bariatric surgery helps them lose weight, it is not effective in improving obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
The floppiness/heaviness around an obese person’s neck is more likely to trigger OSA because it obstructs the upper airway.
It also linked to a higher risk of cancer and other dangerous medical issues. Sleep apnea is common among fibromyalgia patients, as is weight gain.
