A new survey reveals that most Americans know what depression is and see no shame in seeking professional help for it. Many even say that they would not change their vote if they found out a presidential candidate had received treatment for depression.
The study was released to coincide with National Depression Screening Day.
The results show that efforts to reduce the stigmata via events like National Depression Screening Day are achieving the intended result of increasing awareness and knowledge about depression.
The poll also showed that 67% of American believe depression is treatable.
