Fibromyalgia flare-ups consist of varying levels of energy draining symptoms such as difficulty concentrating, lack of sleep, and pain in the hands and feet.
Fibromyalgia patients have a series of tender spots on each side of the body, so it’s hard for them to find a comfortable position to sleep in or to even sit comfortably in. There is a lot of struggle to find a position that allows them to relax no matter what they are doing. These issues create stress. Stress is a major component of fibromyalgia because stress worsens all these symptoms, and it seems to create a cycle that is hard for the patients to break.
Learning about flare-ups is an important part of managing fibromyalgia.
