Fibromyalgia and Children

Fibromyalgia in children usually appears during puberty, affecting more girls than boys. If a parent suffers fibromyalgia, a child could, too, as there seems to be a genetic factor in the development.

However, the disease is just as hard to diagnose in children and should never be assumed just because of a genetic connection.

Children with fibromyalgia often experience sleep problems.
