Inflammation Ongoing in Chronic Pain Patients

C-reactive protein levels and erythrocyte sedimentation rate reveal that some chronic pain patients still experience inflammation, even after treatment with continuous opioid treatment.

This finding suggests “…on-going neuroinflammation related to centralized pain.”

However, not all the findings in this study were negative. Some participating patients reported a better quality of life in regards to depression and quality of life.
