Regret can make those with fibromyalgia feel worse.

It is bad enough to suffer a disease that has no known cause plus a lack of support even among the medical community.

But when patients start thinking about what could have caused fibromyalgia, it sends them into a spiraling range of negative emotions, wondering if they didn’t rest enough or eat well.

But even if they didn’t, why should they dwell?

It doesn’t help. Fibromyalgia patients—you included!— can’t change the past, but only how they deal with their illness. It means changing their lifestyles.
