Biking with fibromyalgia requires some preparation:
- Invest in comfortable bike grips. Good ones will ease/prevent wrist pain. Also invest in gel finger gloves. These help with nerve pain.
- Ask a bike store professional about having a bike fitted to your dimensions. This greatly reduces pain not related to exercise.
- Something like a CamelBak Women’s L.U.X.E.Hydration Pack holds a hydration pack as well as other things—snacks, keys, phone, sunscreen. It’s a great purchase. They come in different sizes.
- Start slow. Biking is a wonderful low impact activity, but if you don’t exercise much you will feel it, so need to build-up to all the health benefits.
