Protecting Your Skin from the Sun

Fibro Daily May 24, 2013

As it heats up, Fibromyalgia sufferers must take care not to overheat. Protecting the skin is important because let’s face it, at some point this summer you’ll be in the sun.

So, if you are going to be in the sun for a prolonged period of time, carry sunscreen with so you can reapply it as needed. Consider wearing thin, sheer shirts that cover your upper body. Find a stylish umbrella or summer hat to don.

Protecting yourself against the shorter duration exposure—driving/riding in the car, walking to the shop from the car, taking the dog out—is important, too. all those short jaunts add up.

Therefore, you need to speak to your doctor about the best level of sunscreen to use so you can enjoy yourself this summer without worry.

Also, sunscreen should also be a part of our African American readers’ lifestyle. Darker skin does provide more protection, but it’s not full proof. Read Which Sunscreen Is The Best Sunscreen? by BlackDoctor.org to found out how to protect yourself from sun damage.
