The Broken Heart of Fibromyalgia

Fibro Daily September 17, 2012

A broken heart shares a lot with fibromyalgia: neither can be seen, but the pain of both proves all too real.

Some people preach one solution to pain, and one solution only: get over it!

While that can be handy for the little things, a major heartbreak is not so easy to get over. If something means a lot–like a relationship–losing it hurts.

The same can be said for fibromyalgia. You’ve lost your physical strength. That makes you depressed, that makes you tired, that makes you grumpy—the same way you feel after a break-up. Fibromyalgia can’t be seen, but it’s like the broken heart of diseases. When you have it, you often withdraw like someone with a broken heart.

Take the time to recover from fibromyalgia, and treat yourself well. This seems to be a powerful remedy for a whole host of painful conditions.
