Fibro Daily

The Cool Factor

Fibro Daily May 29, 2013

Changes in temperature affect Fibromyalgia, causing more exhaustion, headaches, and Fibro flares. Allodynia is a type of pain caused by hot or cold that doesn’t result in obvious tissues damage. As we approach the hot and humid summer in the States, it’s time to take some precautions. To help prevent overheating:

  • keep your home cool, but not so cool that it causes pain from being too cold
  • wear light, natural fabrics
  • drink plenty of water
  • stick to shaded areas if outside

However, sometimes it’s impossible to avoid being overheated. Hormones, extenuating circumstances like a broken down car, or a lack of air-conditioning can wreck the best efforts. Check out for MS cooling products for helpful solutions to overheating.
