It seems like a joke, but chocolate can be good for you.

From Medical News Today:

The American Chemical Society (ACS), the world’s largest scientific society, has released a new Bytesize Science video featuring five chemistry facts that highlight why chocolate, in moderation, may be good for you…Chocolate contains a number of chemicals that inhibit the breakdown of the neurotransmitter anandamide – sometimes called “the molecule of bliss” – which can block feelings of pain and depression.”

More good news:

  • Chocolate provides energy bursts through caffeine and theobromine.
  • Polyphenols occur naturally in cocoa. They boost good cholesterol, or HDL. Cocoa is the main ingredient in chocolate.
  • Chocolate reduce the chances of stoke in men.
  • Dark chocolate is linked to stress relief.

So laugh at the idea that chocolate can be good for you, but make sure you’re eating some chocolate while you’re laughing!
