Transcranial Ultrasound Eases Chronic Pain

Treatment with a Transcranial Ultrasound can improve subjective mood in sufferers of chronic pain in only 10 minutes, according to research done at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center in Tucson. Forty minutes after exposure to the Transcranial Ultrasound treatment, patients also reported a slight reduction of pain felt. During the non-invasive procedure, which is typically used to examine intracranial arteries, a probe from an ultrasound-imaging machine  was applied to the scalp.
