Trigger point injection treatment for fibromyalgia and myofacial pain syndrome.

Fibro Daily June 17, 2013

For people suffering from chronic daily headaches, tension-type headaches, fibromyalgia, or myofacial pain syndrome, trigger point injection may be a potential treatment.  In the procedure, the trigger point is injected with a solution of lidocaine and bupivacaine, a local anesthetic, and sometimes corticosteroids. This treatment can relieve pain, potentially providing long-term relief, and the procedure is covered my most commercial insurance plans.
